Phil Stepanski took over as the director of the Eisenhower Theater program in the summer of 2024. He is an accomplished actor and director, having performed in and directed well over 50 combined productions (both professional and community) around Milwaukee and Waukesha.
Mr. Stepanski received an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre from Marquette University and since that time, he has been a regular performer at numerous local venues including Sunset Playhouse, Waukesha Civic Theatre, SummerStage of Delafield, Lake Country Playhouse, and the Milwaukee Entertainment Group. He has also performed in several traveling educational/children’s theater productions through Kohl’s Wild Theatre (Zoological Society of Milwaukee) and Bug in a Rug Theatre (Sunset Playhouse).
Mentoring and teaching middle school and high school aged students is something that Mr. Stepanski particularly enjoys. Within the last calendar year he has directed both Elf: The Musical and Seussical, Jr. at The Box Theatre in Oconomowoc, a youth theater where he also serves as the president of the board of directors, as well as serving as an acting coach/workshop director for programming at Silver Lake Intermediate School.
Mr. Stepanski lives in New Berlin with his wife and two teenaged sons. They have been proud New Berlin residents for almost 20 years! When asked what he’s looking forward to most about leading the Eisenhower theatre program, Mr. Stepanski responded, “I love storytelling. It is so rewarding to have a true collaboration between actors, musicians, stagehands, designers, and every person involved in a production to tell a story and provide a meaningful experience for an audience”.
